Do I need SafeSpoon Plus for it to be useful?
Not at all — the free plan covers everything you need to track one baby: all 9 allergens, reaction logging with photos, and reminders. SafeSpoon Plus is there if you want more — unlimited babies, full history, and exportable reports — but it's not required to get real value from the app.
Is SafeSpoon a replacement for medical advice?
No. SafeSpoon is a logging and tracking tool to help you stay organised and communicate with your healthcare team — it does not provide medical advice or diagnose allergies. Always follow the guidance of your paediatrician or allergist.
Is my baby's health data private?
Yes. Your data is stored securely using row-level security — only your account can access your family's information. We never sell or share your data with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Pricing
How does SafeSpoon make money?
We don't run ads and we don't sell your data — the only thing keeping SafeSpoon running is SafeSpoon Plus, our one-time in-app purchase. Full transparency: we only launched in August 2026, and right now we're not making money. Our focus is getting the app in front of as many parents as possible and making it as good as it can be — and hopefully, if it's useful to you, you'll support us by going Plus.
Why one-time purchase instead of a subscription?
We know subscriptions are the smarter business move. But we thought about it and decided against it. Parents, including us, are already squeezed with everything getting more expensive. Adding another monthly charge didn't sit right, so SafeSpoon Plus is a one-time purchase instead.
Allergen Basics
When should I start introducing allergens to my baby?
Most paediatric allergy guidelines recommend introducing solid foods — including the top allergens — around 4–6 months of age, once your baby shows signs of readiness. Early introduction (before 12 months) has been shown to reduce the risk of food allergy. Always consult your paediatrician before starting.
How often should I re-introduce each allergen?
Current guidelines suggest re-introducing successfully tolerated allergens regularly — typically after 7–14 days — to maintain tolerance. In SafeSpoon, you set the next introduction date for each allergen, and we'll remind you when it's due.
Using the App
Can I track multiple babies in one account?
Yes, with SafeSpoon Plus. The free plan supports one baby; upgrading unlocks unlimited babies, each with their own dashboard, log history, and reminders — great for twins or siblings close in age.
Can I log an entry for a past date?
Yes, when logging an allergen introduction you can pick any past date from the form — handy if you forget to log it on the day.
How do I delete my account?
Head to Settings in the app and tap Delete Account. You'll be taken through the steps to permanently remove your account and data.
Can I share access with my partner/co-parent?
Not yet — right now SafeSpoon only supports one account per user. Multi-carer sharing is the next big feature we're building, so partners and caregivers can log from their own phones on the same baby profile. Stay tuned.
